The Amanos Foundation invites you to come together to commemorate and look to the future. Three years on from the earthquakes in southern Turkey, the time for emergency aid has passed, yet the need for structural reconstruction has only grown. All proceeds from the evening will go towards establishing the Mother and Child House in Samandağ, Turkey.

The Göksel Yılmaz Ensemble will perform a repertoire of Turkish, Arabic and Kurdish music influenced by Western styles such as jazz, blues and classical. Through their music, they will take listeners on a journey through life, exploring themes of longing, rebellion, sadness, melancholy, intense love and joy.

Prior to the concert, we will speak to several individuals who have first-hand experience of the country, the affected region and its stories. Together with them, we will reflect on the ongoing local consequences of the earthquakes, the resilience of the regional population and ways in which we in the United Kingdom can contribute to the future of those affected.
