Violin

Anne Bakker was born in The Netherlands and started taking violin lessons at the age of 9. After learning the basic techniques, she specialized herself in jazz music and improvisation. She studied jazz violin at the conservatory in Rotterdam and Arnhem and was taught by Eric Vloeimans, Simon Rigter, Ed Verhoeff, Michael Gustorff en Micha Molthoff. In 2011 she finished her studies with a Bachelor. Nowadays she is playing violin in the Dutch worldmusic, jazz en pop scene in different groups.
Anne plays on a violin made in 1997 by Jan van der Elst and with a E. Sartory model bow. These are given here on loan by the NMF (Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds).

Sándor

Double bass

Sándor Kém was born in Hungary. He studied classical/jazz doublebass and electric bass at the music school of Nagykanizsa. After he continued his studies at the conservatory in Rotterdam, where he finished his Bachelor at 2006. He also studied in the United States of America at the University of North Texas, University of New Orleans and New York School of Jazz with masters like Rufus Reid, Eddie Gomez, Ron Carter and Mike Richmond. Later on he did a master study and finished it with succes at the Codarts conservatory in Rotterdam at 2008. Nowadays he plays in different formations like the Malando Orchestra, Tango Extremo and the Benoit Martiny Band.

Percussion

Ulaş Aksünger was born and grew up in 1980 in Germany, Mannheim. Son of parents from East Turkey. Living in Holland, Rotterdam. Came to study Latin Percussion at the World Music Department of the Rotterdam Conservatory in September 2003. He finished his studies in June 2008 with a Bachelor. Besides latin percussion he plays oriental percussion, drum set, different percussion set ups and any other percussive instruments. He recorded, played and still plays with different bands and musicians. Nowadays Ulas is also busy with a jazz master percussion study at the conservatory in Amsterdam.

 

Göksel

Guitar, saz and vocals

Göksel Yilmaz was born in The Netherlands and is of Arabic decent.
He started playing the saz when he was young and specialized himself in Turkish folk music. Later on he studied classical guitar at the conservatory in Enschede and was taught by the well known concert guitarist and composer Louis Ignatius Gall.
