The production SILK is based on two legends from the wondrous world of the Orient and shows the power of young women who choose beauty and freedom.
Twelve dancers and beautiful arrangements, Oriental sounds and songs of the Göksel Yilmaz Ensemble. They take the audience on a journey with bated breath and tell them about two legends: of Hsi Ling Shih and of the Silk Princess and future wife of the King of Khotan.

The program Gezgin takes the listener on a musical journey through life, from desire to rebellion, sadness to intense love and joy. Ancient traditional songs being performed with a contemporary approach.
Original, contemporary compositions of Turkish-Arab singer, guitarist and sazplayer Göksel Yılmaz, influenced by traditional music and Western styles like jazz, blues and classical, are part of the special repertoire.

Göksel Yilmaz Ensemble @ "Dutch Jazz & World Meeting"
The Göksel Yilmaz Ensemble has been invited to play a showcase during the "Dutch Jazz & World Meeting" in Amsterdam.
On 5-6 October the second edition of the "Dutch Jazz & World Meeting" will be held in Amsterdam on the locations; Amsterdam Conservatory, Bimhuis and Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. The goal is to present and promote Dutch jazz and world music.
Professionals, programmers, bookers and journalists from around the world are invited for this day.
Showcase of Göksel Yilmaz Ensemble will take place on Friday, October 5 at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, Sweelinckzaal.

The first concert in Turkey of the Göksel Yilmaz Ensemble is a fact. 3 august 2012 the ensemble gives a concert in Antakya the ancient Antioch, one of the first metropol citys of the world. It is also the city where the parents of Göksel were born en where he lived for seven years.

In 2010 Beauforthuis brought master guitarist Jan Akkerman with Göksel Yilmaz Ensemble together and at the same stage Eric Vloeimans and Jan Akkerman were linked. This led to two great performances.
A meeting between Eric Vloeimans and Göksel Yilmaz Ensemble will also surely bring something beautiful, we thought. The ensemble is characterized by its great rhythmic power, accompanied by a particular range of sounds and instruments. As one of the greatest trumpet players of our country Eric Vloeimans also performed with Kyteman.

Na een lange periode van voorbereidingen en studio opnames is het debuut album “Gezgin” van het Göksel Yilmaz Ensemble op 1 december 2011 verschenen.
Op dit zeer speciale CD presentatie concert zullen alle muzikanten en vrienden die hebben meegewerkt aan “Gezgin” aanwezig zijn.
Er is gekozen voor Enschede omdat het de geboorte stad is van Göksel en hij daar zijn eerste band heeft opgericht.

Het debuut album "Gezgin" van het Göksel Yilmaz Ensemble is uit. Op 1 december 2011 hebben we de Cd gepresenteerd op de "Dag van de Wereldmuziek" in Rotterdam. Er zullen nog meer presentatie concerten volgen. De concerten worden aangekondigd op de site en via mailing. Het eerst volgende CD presentatie concert is op 18 december 2011 in Amsterdan op het Mokum Folk Podium.

Het Göksel Yilmaz Ensemble is uitgenodigd om een showcase te komen spelen tijdens de "Dag van de Wereldmuziek" in Rotterdam.
Op donderdag 1 december a.s. vindt de tweede editie van de Dag van de Wereldmuziek plaats in WMDC, Grounds en De Machinist, Rotterdam. Het doel is het presenteren en promoten van Nederlandse wereldmuziek.
